Trauma Informed Yoga
We all carry the weight of trauma. When something happens that is bigger than our ability to process in that moment, or when we experience a fundamental lack of safety at any time in our lives, this can be traumatic. Fear, anxiety, grief, and other sensations may become trapped in the body and in the nervous system. These symptoms can manifest as dis-ease in the body, sometimes right away and sometimes many years later. From migraines, insomnia, and stomach issues, to addiction and everything in between, it's all connected. The good news is there are tools you can use and share with those who need it. Healing is possible and accessible.
Trainees will learn about recovery and resilience, triggers, the anatomy of trauma as well as dysregulation, teaching methodology, self-care, and trauma stewardship, including creating a safe space. Trainees will receive support in practice throughout this training, as well as sequences for movement, breath, and meditation. Upon Completion, trainees will receive a TIYTT Certificate of Completion from Om Home Yoga School, and 10 Continuing Education Training Hours, approved by Yoga Alliance
